Pre Conference: 

 

Banner: This year we will be having digital banners! Show us your school's big picture by designing a PowerPoint slide that best represents your school's pride for SWACURH 2017 Leadership Conference -The Big Picture. The conference theme should also be incorporated into the banner as well. It may be emailed to our Spirit and Awards Chair, Allie Nixon (anixon2@cub.uca.edu) or turned in at Check-In on Thursday, November 9th, on a flash drive. The winner will be voted on and announced at Banquet!

Display: Each school will have the opportunity to earn additional spirit points by bringing a 3D display decorated in the conference theme, school pride, or delegation’s personality. The display will be showcased so all schools can look at the displays and it will be judged during the conference. The winner will receive an award at Banquet! Requirements are listed below:

​

  • No bigger than 2x2x2 feet

  • Must have each delegate's name on the display

  • Must have institution name

 

Duckorations: Duckorations are a lot like displays. These will be ducks decorated by schools and should match the conference theme. Please include your school's name. This object will also be put on display for other schools to see and will be judged. The winners will receive an award at Banquet as well.

During Conference:

​

Roll Call: Each school will create a 3 minute and 30 seconds or less skit/dance that fits the “Big Picture” theme or best represents your schools spirit. Costumes, props, music, juggling, etc. are all encouraged as long as no one gets hurt! As mentioned before please no video roll due to outdated equipment in the facility we are using. The stage that roll call will be performed on is 32 ft wide and 25 ft deep. Some things to keep in mind are:

  • No glitter or Confetti

  • No food or drink

  • No jumping off the stage

  • No throwing of items into the crowd

​

Awards:

​

 

Some of our conference awards will be:

 

  • Best Duckoration, Best Roll Call, Best Banner (Large/Small School), Best Display (Large/Small School), and Top 10 Programs

While some of the regional awards will be:

  • Community of the Year, Program of the Year, Student Staff Member of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, RLC Host Site 2018, and the Golden Feather Award. 

 

 

 

 We will also be having different themes for each day of the conference. The themes are based on the different pieces that make up our lovely region and are as follows:

  • Thursday, November 9th - School Spirit - Comes wearing school colors/apparel! 

  • Friday, November 10th - Connections - pair up with each other and wear matching outfits.

  • Saturday, November 11th - Ducky love - Come wearing SWACURH colors to showcase your ducky love. (We will also be having delegates wear their SWACURH RLC 2017 T-shirt on this day)
